After resigning ourselves to the idea that she wasn't going to make an appearance before her due date, which was 11/12, Maeve decided to make a surprise appearance at 9:32 a.m. on 11/7/08. Maybe not all that much of a surprise since my water broke shortly after midnight and I had been in labor since just before midnight, but you get the idea.
As far as labors go, especially for first time mothers, it was fast and smooth (or so I am told). Sure, there was some begging on my part towards the end, but I imagine that's often par for the course. It was a drug-free birth, but that's all coincidental, since it wasn't part of the original plan.
We're all healthy, all happy, and yes, we're all tired.

Yay! I'm the first to comment on this beautiful little creature! Congratulations Ash and Jen, I am so jealous about her red hair. Can't wait to see more photos, Amy.
I am so happy to hear that your labor was fast, but at the same time kind of want to slap you too.
Seriously, she is adorable. I checked out the picasso album, loved the tummy shots.
Watched the YouTube video and giggled about the soundtrack--very adorable as well.
Congrats!
So I shared your Youtube video with my husband and he too thought it was adorable and funny too. He teaches Human Sexuality at Adirondack Community College. He is going to share your video in class. They do a section on childbirth so Maeve is contributing to the education of our youth already!!!
Congratulations!!! A long time comming. She is beautiful!! We are jealous she has hair. Pearson still bald. Need more photos Ash. Jen has her hands full. Love, Pearson, John, and Yvette
AAAH! Love the 3D ultrasound. Love the photo! More, please!
The Darth Vader shirt is completely appropriate. She looks like a dark-side master in the making. To assist in the process, do y'all need a Harvard or MIT shirt?
I'm proud of you both! Congratulations!
p.s., Her hair looks more "perfect" than any particular color. Perhaps we should add a new color name to the lexicon, between "orange" and "awesome".
